Lenovo has just posted a message warning Thinkpad users that the Windows 10 August 2020 Update could cause some users to experience a blue screen (BSOD) error. The error would have the following text: “SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED – ldiagio.sys.”
The company said that after installing the August 2020 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 version 2004, users may face one or more of the following errors:
Blue screen error when booting up .Blue screen error when launching Lenovo Vantage .Blue screen error when running Windows Defender Scan, Unable to use face recognition with Windows Hello. Error in Device Manager related to Intel Management Engine. Error in Device Manager related to IR Camera (infrared camera)
This error appears to be caused by a new feature in the BIOS called Enhanced Windows Biometric Security. You can temporarily fix this error by disabling it in BIOS setup -> Security -> Virtualization menu. The Enhanced Windows Biometric Security feature is currently incomplete, so turning it off would not have a serious effect, Lenovo says. According to the WindowsLatest report, users of other PC brands also have the same error, so how to fix the above error can still be applied to you.
